Achieve New Targets

Its that time of year where resolutions are made and most are over within a few weeks. So, what is better than resolutions? What would you follow through on? What commitment would you have to achieving new goals.

A figure often said is that 80% of people will have dropped them by the second week of February. Personally I would say it would be as high as 93 – 95%.

Whether your intentions, goals or targets are personal or business here are a few tips to make it easier for you to achieve them:

1. Make Simple Step-Targets

Step-targets are things you can do and achieve easily. They create momentum, a sense of accomplishment and increases your trust and confidence in your ability. Simple steps are easier to keep enthusiasm, energy and follow through.

2. Make It Fun and Interesting 

One the things that most people lose is interest. If you are not interested you are not engaged. Keep it interesting and see if you can design new ways to keep you engaged. E.g. If its a walking everyday for 20mins – 30mins…have new music on; go a different way; add stairs/inclines/declines; slow-down or speed-up. You get the picture.

3. Reward Yourself

Remember to reward yourself each week after staying the course. Before you know it, you would have achieved your targets and it will have bee much more fun than you expected.

4. Take Action Everyday

As simple as it sounds do it anyway. Even if you don’t feel like it…start gently and gradually get into it. Prime your attitude and body to do something everyday.

5. Follow Through

This is the difference between getting things done and not. Follow through and you’ll reap the rewards. How good does it feel when you do something and follow through on it? How does it get better than that?

So have a strong intention and take action and your sure to succeed. Go for it and enjoy it 🙂
